| The standard 48-foot trailer, or smaller if so desired, has
curb side, road side, and rear double doors or rear roll up doors
for easy loading and unloading. Or, if you choose, Smithway, Inc.
introduces "Chicks On Wheels", our new pallet system that
puts wheels under your chicks to speed up and take the work out
of chick delivery. Each pallet can move up to 12,000 chicks directly
from the hatchery floor to the house with ease. Nine pallets can
be rolled directly into the Smithway Transporter. Once transported,
they are unloaded and taken inside the house with the Moffett Forklift
which is attached to the rear of the Smithway Transporter. |
| These bodies incorporate the same
system as do the trailers. We build bodies ranging from 10 feet
to 32 feet in length, so whatever capacity you are looking to haul,
Smithway has your transportation needs covered. |
| All sizes of transporters are now
air conditioned for the comfort of your birds. We take the maximum
capacity of each Smithway and match an air conditioning unit to
insure the BTU load can be handled regardless of the outside temperature.
A variety of humidity systems are also offered, as well as controls,
data logging, and alarms, so you can rest assured that your load
will arrive in the best possible condition. |
| This system uses an overhead fan with
adjustable plastic blades to maintain a consistent temperature throughout
the load. The overhead duct has been removed and replaced by a washable
filtering system. All air, whether it is heated or cooled, enters
through the floor duct, and air that is not exhausted out the rear
of the unit is returned through the filtering system. |
| Smithway transport systems are fabricated with aluminum bodies
and trailers, insulated walls and ceilings, seamless white fiberglass
interiors, and aluminum sub floors. Units are powered by diesel
generator sets, with an emergency backup generator as standard equipment.
Units are air conditioned and are heated with electric duct heaters.
All controls are programmed at the factory to ensure the proper
settings every trip out. The chick box division bars and pallets
are designed to hold boxes apart to allow ample air flow. Units
are easy to maintain and cleanup is a breeze. |
